Loose Lips Sink Ships

 James 1:26 & 27 You might think you are a very religious person.  But if your tongue is out of control, you are fooling yourself.  Your “careless talk” makes your “offerings” worthless.  The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence.  This is the kind of worship that God Accepts as “pure and good”.

The True Way to “Worship” God!

When We Talk, We “Speak” life or death, like God!

 

The Tongue:  

 

I was having a conversation with a woman, and she said, you don’t know what is in “my heart”.  I said I really do know what’s in your heart.  She asked, how do you know what’s in my heart?  

 

I said, you just told me, for the Instruction Manual, the Bible, tells us that “the mouth speaks what the heart (mind) is full of”.  

 

Our Words, Like God’s Words, Have Creative Ability!

Solomon instructs us to be “careful how we think”!

 

In the above scripture God is telling us that if our mind is always thinking about things that lead to “death”, that our mouths will do its job and always talk about things that lead to death.  Our life (actions) follows our “focus” (thinking).

 

Whenever our mouths are out of control, rather we think our mouth is out of control or not, know this, God said that “Our carless talk makes our offerings worthless”.  The scripture instructs us to “be slow to speak”.  

 

You will not explode if you keep those words inside you.

But you will be able to “see” better.

 

Worship:

 

There are so many definitions and different ways that people perform acts of worship.  But the definition that God gives us in “The Instruction Manual”, The Holy Bible is very different from them all.

 

From the religious services that I am familiar with, the worship service was when the congregation at the Church meet together, sing and pray and hold up hands and listen to the Preacher and having our minds focused on God and Jesus.

 

Or its when we are alone and have a real good feeling about God and Jesus and what they have done for us.  This worship appears to be more of an awe or feeling of appreciation for God and Jesus and being thankful.

“The Worship That God Wants From Us”!

 

Two Basic Types of Church Worship:

 

1.    “Having” Church – On Saturday or Sunday as discussed above.

2.    “Being” the Church”- From our Daily Nugget.

  Caring for Orphans who need help.

            Caring for Widows who need help.

            Caring for those who need help. 

            Keeping yourselves free from the world’s evil influences.

 

Being the Church is really us Christians today picking up where Jesus left off in caring for the people.  This aspect of worship is doing the “work” that God told the Church to do. This worship is “Loving Thy Neighbor” and we are to love our neighbors “As We Love Ourselves”, everybody know how they want to be loved; therefore no one can’t say, well I didn’t know what to do!

 

Normally, as a Church Body, when we think of worship, we think of the having Church aspect of worship; but God is telling us that the type of “Worship” that He Loves and is just “tickled pink” about, is the “Being The Church” aspect of worship.

 

With this aspect of Worship, we are 

“The Arms and The Feet of Jesus” – “Pure and Good”!
