Why Me?
The Lord said to Moses, “You will die soon. And after you have gone to be with your ancestors, these people will not continue to be faithful to me. They will break the agreement I made with them. They will leave me and begin worshiping other gods—the false gods of the land where they are going. At that time I will become very angry with them, and I will leave them. I will refuse to help them, and they will be destroyed. Terrible things will happen to them, and they will have many troubles. Then they will say, ‘These bad things happened to us because our God is not with us.’ And I will refuse to help them because they have done evil and worshipped other gods. (Deuteronomy 31:16-18)
Why Me?
It is “Due to Your Sins”!
The people of Israel knew, “why me”?
Normally this is a question we ask ourselves when all kinds of problems and issues are going on in our life. God had given Israel “much material things”; we would say, “life is good”. The “material things” that “God” gave to the people became their “god”. This made God jealous, and He became very angry with Israel.
The people of Israel were slaves in Egypt, with very few “material things”. God caused the people of Egypt to “give” material things to the people before they were set free. Between the time God set them free and our Daily Nugget, many, many such blessings occurred.
Israel started out as a poor nation.
The United States started out as a poor nation.
Many of our families today, started out with very few material things, poor.
The other day I heard a pastor tell the congregation, many of you, “now”, do not even know when pay day comes. Poor people “always” know and are “always” waiting on payday to come. The payday check is often spent before payday.
The things God gave them became their god!
God, like any good father, love to give to their children; and God like any good father will discipline his children when they chose to “live” in disobedience to Him. The father that does not discipline the child, the Bible say that He does not love them.
We plant the seed; we will get the fruit.
We plant the seed of love and obedience; we get the fruit; we plant the seed of hate and disobedience; we get the fruit. We “chose” which seed we will plant.
The first of God’s Commandments to us is, “thou shall have no other god before Me”. We are still required to obey this commandment today. God has allowed the people of the United States to become rich in material things above every other nation.
Like the people of Israel, in the United States,
we have material things, far beyond that of any other nation. The material things that God gave to Israel, became their god. We must make sure that the God of Heaven and Earth is our God. The material things have “no power to save”. When we “depend” on them, we are living in disobedience to the First Commandment.
Our God says, “Love not the world nor anything in it”.
The First Commandment, “Thou shall have no other god before me”.
The Bible is to serve as our Instruction Manual on how to live in this “foreign land” called earth. To love the world is to make God our enemy. When God is our enemy “bad things” happens to us. When God is our friend, good things happen to us.
Ask God to Bless You to Live In A Way That
“God Will Be With You”
And Watch What Happens!
