Amiss.
Amiss.
To Pray Amiss, is a Worthless Prayer.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask “Amiss”, that you may spend it on “Pleasure”. (James 4:3)
Beware of “Pleasure”! Jesus’ Life was Never About “Pleasure”.
“Why” we want, what we ask for, is Important to God; and determines if we get it!
Our Daily Nugget
is letting us know that when we Pray for “Things” that is to be used for our “Pleasure” it is wrong, improper or a faulty Prayer; it is asking “Amiss”. Jesus prayed for the Benefit of Others, Never for Pleasure for himself.
Amiss - Wrong, improper, or faulty, particularly in the context of actions, prayers
or speech. It can also refer to something being out of order or incorrect.
Pleasure - The state or feeling of being Pleased. Pleasure is “Friendship With the
World”. To be Friends with the World, “is to be an enemy of God’s”.
What Pleases You, “The Word or the World”?
To enjoy Pleasure and to Enjoy Loving Your Neighbor are Totally Opposite!
Enjoying the Kingdom that God has Prepared for us and Enjoying Pleasure are not the same. Enjoying the Kingdom is “Doing Love”. Doing Love is “Benefitting Others” and not self. Pleasure benefits self and not others. To enjoy Pleasure and to Enjoy Loving Your Neighbor, both “Requires Resources Given To Us, By God”; to be used “For Us And For Others”.
To Enjoy Pleasure, would at first glance, seem innocent; but to look into Pleasure and God’s Will, we see the problem with Pleasure. We cannot Love our Neighbor, when Seeking Pleasure is paramount in our life, “especially when we spend Precious Prayer Time”, praying for “Self”, short for Selfish.
When Jesus said, I Will Give You The Desires of Your Heart/Mind;
It was a Given, for the Kingdom Citizen, that their Desires are For God’s Will.
The more a Kingdom Citizen “Matures”; the “Clearer”, they can see the Wisdom in Prayers that “Are Not Amiss”. Greed leads to Amiss Prayers, along with selfishness and inconsideration for others. Pleasure is not “Happiness”!
God commands us to Seek Him, Not Pleasure; Then, We’ll Be Happy!
