Vain Glory!

                                                                           Vain Glory!

Vain Glory is Empty Glory..

Let us not be desirous of “Vain Glory”, provoking one another, envying one another.  (Galatians 5:26)

To Glorify Self, is Evidence of Vain Glory and It Leaves One Empty.

Vain Glory  is “excessive pride”, a desire for “empty fame” or recognition based on one’s own merits, achievements, or qualities.  It’s an “empty glory” stemming from conceit and a focus on “personal glory” rather than God’s.  Vain glory is considered a dangerous sin and a form of idolatry (the worshipping of false gods), opposing the Christian virtues of humility and selflessness, and can lead to negative consequences, envy, strife, and spiritual decline.  (AI Overview)

Humility is Protection from Vain Glory.

Our Daily Nugget is letting us know that if the “Demon of Pride” has infected our Heart/Mind, it will lead us to Glorify Self, which is Vain Glory.  Nothing good, only bad, can come from Vain Glory.  A humbled heart/mind will never seek Vain Glory; they have no need nor desire.  A humbled heart/mind is a contented heart/mind.  When we attempt to glorify self, we provoke others and we envy one another.  Their is no peace when we seek vain glory, no unity or harmony.

To Be “Led by the Spirit” is to “Crucify The Flesh” and “It’s Vain Glory”.

To live seeking vain glory is evidence that we do not belong to Christ, but to Satan.  Vain Glory is in our “desire” to Think more highly of ourselves than we ought to Think.  Now we attempt to get other people to Think highly of ourselves also; so, we do things that are sin and displeasing to God.

If we know that we do things because we want people to “look at, or admire us”, in a certain light, then know that we have “vain glory”.  Vain Glory always takes us somewhere, spiritually, we would rather not be; even if we can’t see it right now.  The road of Vain Glory leads to death and destruction for ourself and our households.

Honor God, Pray for a Contented Spirit; and  Watch Vain Glory “Flee”.
