The Rich Man.
The Rich Man.
He Gained the Whole World.
There was a “rich man” who was “dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury everyday”. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. (Luke 16:19-21)
Lazarus, the Poor Man, “Gained His Soul and We Know His Name”.
Our Daily Nugget
is letting us know our Destiny when we choose to Love the World and the Things in It and refuse to Love our Neighbor as we love ourselves. Being rich is not a sin; to refuse to love your neighbor as you love yourself is a sin; rather rich or poor.
God gives to us, so that we have “for us and for others”!
Our Daily Nugget is detailing a “Poor Beggar Named Lazarus” and an “Unnamed Rich Man” “Who Ignored Lazarus”, leading to “Reversed Fortunes” in the “Afterlife”, highlighting themes of “compassion, justice, and eternal consequences”.
Is your Goal
to “Gain the Whole World” or to “Prepare Your Soul for Eternity”?
Our Capitalistic System emphasizes “Making Money, Getting Rich”, as the “Most Important Thing”. When we embrace this capitalistic system as the “most important thing”, it becomes our “god”. This will make “God” jealous and you will be treated as “An Enemy of God’s”, you and your household.
We all are not rich people, who pass by people who are in need; but we all rich or poor, pass by people who need our help; like Lazarus needed the help of the rich man. Never be too busy or too engrossed in satisfying yourself with your stuff, to the point that you do not have time nor the interest to “Help People”. To look at life and your neighbor with such little concern is evident that we are choosing the Destiny that the rich man chose.
Giving to the Poor, is like “Lending to The Lord”;
“He Will Repay with Great Interest”. “The Best and Safest Investment Ever”!
