Jeremiah Wept.
Jeremiah Wept.
Why Did Jeremiah Weep?
You hope for light, but He (God) will turn it to utter darkness and change it to deep gloom. “But if you will not listen”, my soul will “weep” in secret for your pride; my eyes will “weep” bitterly and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive (destroyed). (Jeremiah 13:16&17)
Jeremiah Wept, due to “Deep Sorrow” For Jerusalem.
Jeremiah Saw “The Price of Living Ungodly”, the People “Had to Pay”.
Jeremiah wept due to “deep sorrow” over the “impending destruction” of Jerusalem, “the stubborn disobedience” and “rampant idolatry” of the Jewish people, and the “intense personal persecution he faced”.
His grief was driven by the
“Foresight of God’s Judgement” and “his Love for his Nation”.
When “What We ‘Love’ is Destroyed”, “We Weep”.
The “pain of knowing and seeing” that a Loved One is to be destroyed is especially hurtful, “When They Can Prevent the Destruction”, “But, they Choose Not To”; “With Arrogance”. And they continue, “headlong”, into “continued sin and wrongdoing”, “Which Is The Cause and Source of Their Destruction”.
God’s Punishment for sin and wrongdoing is still as “Sure For Nations Today”,
as it was for nations of that day. “Jesus did not change that”. God “demands obedience and reverence”, above all things; especially over sin and wrong doing.
We either “Reverence God and His Righteousness” or we “Reverence Satan and Wrongdoing”. Lukewarm, middle of the road, is “Unbelief”: Jesus said that He would “spew” us out of His Mouth if we “thought” like that. “Nineveh Repented”!
Is There Someone Weeping For You or Are You Weeping for Another?
Love Your Neighbor “Enough”, to Weep for Them.
And Watch What Happens.
