Is Your Reward in “This Life” or the “Life to Come”?

Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword “Rescue Me From The Wicked”.  By your hand “save me” from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose “Reward Is In This Life”.  May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.  (Psalms 17:13&14)

If our Reward is in This Life, we will utilize the World’s ways of living; 

if our Reward is in the Life to come, we will utilize The Word’s way of living.

Reward - A recompense, wages, or return given by God for actions, “whether good or bad”.  Our Rewards are either Life or Death.

Our Daily Nugget

is King David, when he was “A Man on The Run”.  David had sinned greatly and now wicked and evil people were out to kill him.  Even though David had sinned greatly, he still sought the mercy and protection from God to save him from his enemies. Remember, our God is full of Grace and Mercy.

David prayed that God would “give to them” what He had stored up for the wicked, to fill the bellies of those wanting to kill him; he also prayed that their children would “gorge” themselves on the punishment God had stored for them.

Our Righteousness is a Blessing for our children and grandchildren..

Our Wickedness is a Curse for our children and grandchildren.

Wickedness is alive and well today, make sure it’s not you.

The Lord says, 

Call on Me, when trouble comes, I Will Save You and You Will Praise Me!

This statement is as True Today as it was when the Lord first said it.  The Lord does not want us to try to fight our battles, He wants us to Call On Him When Trouble Comes.
