My Real Love; The Word or The World?


The young man said to Him, “all these I have kept; what am I still lacking”?  Jesus said to him, “If you want to be Complete”, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.  But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.  (Matthew 19:20-22)


I Kept the Commandments, but I Loved The World.


Our Daily Nugget

is another example of the “deceit and deception” of Satan.  We have a rich young man who owned much property.  He was a Believer and wanted Jesus to tell him what he needed to do to “obtain eternal life”.  Jesus said to him that you know the commandments.  The man “claimed to have kept all those commandments”, he is saddened when Jesus tells him to sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Him, “As He Cannot Part With His Wealth”; “his god”.


We are Complete when we have “No Other god, before God”!

The Rich Young Ruler’s god was his Wealth.  Do you have a god or God?


After accepting Jesus as our lord and Savior, He must be the Only Thing that we refuse to live without.  If there is any body or any thing that we cannot live without except Jesus, that “is our god”.  The first of the ten commandments are to “have no other god before God”.  The world has many gods to offer, none can save.


Jesus knew the “heart/mind” of this man who was near perfect in Religion, 

but not in Love.


Religion nor tradition is Love; nor is obeying religion or tradition Love.  Why then are they “SO” important to us, “Over Love”?  Maybe we need to ask our selves, “Whose Your Daddy”?  Wrong can look right and right can look wrong, when we have a god, over God.  It is not just the rich who loves the world over the word.  To love religion and tradition over The Word is just as bad or worse.


A Red Flag Concerning Love, and “The Real Test of Love” is,

Do I treat people the way I want people to treat me?

Be Complete; Count it as Rubbish and Love.
