Be Slow To Speak.

                                                                     Be Slow To Speak!

Loose Lips Produces a “Worthless Religion”.

My dewar brothers and sisters, take note of this Everyone should be Quick to Listen, “Slow to Speak” and Slow to Become Angry.  (James 1:19)

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues “deceive themselves”, and “Their Religion is Worthless”.  (James 1:26)

Our Daily Nugget

advises thoughtful, measured communication over hasty reactions, aiming to avoid sin, reduce conflict, and reflect God’s Righteousness rather than “impulsive human anger”. Just Consider what is going on in our Thinking Process, our Heart/Mind, when we “Feel” a need to Speak Quickly, Fast.  Is it not a sign of “Insecurity”?

To be “Quick to Speak” is a sin; it’s disobedience.

The more slowly we speak, the more Wisdom we will find in “Speaking Slowly” and we will be able to see the “Foolishness in Speaking Quickly”.  Additionally, we will fall victim to the “Foot In Mouth Disease”, “Less Often”.  The Bible says, that, the more we speak, the more likely we are to say something that’s wrong.  Speaking quickly and speaking a lot, “does not make us ‘look smart’, but speaking quickly and a lot, makes us look dumb”.  We might “feel smart”, but we do not look smart to people.

The Less we Speak, the more we are considered “Wise”.

We learn when we are listening, we do not learn when we are speaking.

All of James chapter one is about “Wisdom”; how to Live as Kingdom Citizens in this foreign land that is called earth.  Verse nineteen is like a highlight of the preceding verses; like saying, “Therefore”.  Therefore, after all of these God’s Promises, we should be “Slow to Speak”

Being Slow to Speak gives us

“Time to Hear the Holy Spirit Tell Us ‘What’ to Say or Not To Say”.

Trusting God is “protection” from the “Anxious Spirit” that motivates people to Speak Quickly; very often due to fear and insecurity.  Trust God to fight your battles and you will not feel the need to “Speak Quickly”.

Ask God to Bless you to “Be Slow to Speak”, and

Watch What Happens.
