Temptation.
Temptation.
Resist It or Submit To It?
So “Submit” to (the authority of) God. “Resist” the devil (stand firm against him) and “he will flee from you”. “Come near to God and He will come near to you”. “Wash your hands, you sinners”, and “purify your hearts (minds), you double-minded”. “Grieve, mourn and wail”. “Change your laughter to morning and your joy into gloom”. “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up”. (James 4:7-10))
NO, We Are Not “Just Weak”!
Are you Actively Resisting or Are you Actively Submitting?
Our Daily Nugget
is God’s Blueprint to us on “How To Handle Temptation”. Through Christ we have the “Authority and Power to Make the Devil Flee”! We Call It “Exercised Faith”.
Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, brought us Salvation from sin.
This Salvation occurs in three stages. Firstly, we are Saved from the Penalty of sin. This guarantees us entrance into heaven when we physically die. Secondly, we are Saved from the Power of Sin, this gives us the Power to make the devil flee, as we Resist his attacks. We do not “have to yield”! Thirdly, when Jesus comes back to get us and take us to The Place, He has Prepared for Us, then we’ll be Saved from the Presence of sin. We are Living in the Second Stage of God’s Salvation.
We Participate in This Second Stage of Salvation.
Jesus has Power and Lordship over the whole world, including sin. Jesus gives this Power and Lordship to Believers. Believers “Must Exercise Our Faith” for this Power and Lordship to be “Extended to Us Believers”. At the Cross, Jesus took Satan’s Power away. Now Satan must use lies and deception, He does this through using “liars and deceivers”, who are “satan’s host”.
We Submit to the Authority of God, by making The Bible, God’s Word the “Constitution of our Heart/Mind”. This is the New Creature’s Way of Thinking and it tells the New Creature “What To Think”. What we Think, guides our living.
We must Think “What” the Word says, and we must no longer Think “What” the
World says. This is Resisting the devil; “Do This and Watch Him Flee”!
