The “Fruit and Victory” in Abstaining.


In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  Quench not the Spirit.  Despise not prophesying.  “Prove All Things”; “Hold Fast That Which is Good”.  “Abstain From All Evil”.  

(1 Thessalonians 5:18-22)


To Abstain Leads to Victory, to Yield Leads to Defeat.


In this Daily Nugget

Paul is telling us to “Give Thanks in Everything”; not because everything is good, but all things works together for the good of those who “Abstain From Evil”.  Paul is telling us to “Test or Prove All Things”.  Anything that affects us is God’s Will for us; therefore, we are to Give Thanks for it, even though we do not see the good in it.  God’s Will for us is Always the Best Thing for us and for our households.


Abstain - To “deliberately and voluntarily” refrain from actions, practices, or substances that are considered sinful,

                spiritually detrimental, or harmful.


Evil -  Anything, everything, that opposes God’s Holy Character, Breaks His Laws, or brings harm, suffering, and chaos.


Beware of Anger!  


Anger leads us to Be Evil and Abstain Not.  A heart/mind set on Vengeance “will not abstain and will be lead to doing evil”.  This heart/mind will not hear and obey the Holy Spirit.  Watch to see what comes out of a person when they are squeezed, made mad; “This Will Be the Real Person”.  


To “never” consider what we like and don’t like is The Road we must take in order to Abstain from All Evil; we must consider and do What’s Best, regardless of rather we like it or not.  This is Wisdom that Delivers the ability to “Abstain”.


Our Daily Nugget is also telling us to “Prove All Things”.  This means that we are not to take what we are told or anything else as Truth; but “we are to Test All Things”, to make sure that it “Lines Up With The Bible, God’s Word”.  No matter “who the person is saying it”.  You will pay the price for doing the wrong or reap a reward for doing right.


Trust God All Day, Give Thanks in Everything, and Abstain from All Evil,

And Watch The Power of God’s Salvation Show Up and Show Out.
