Acts of Kindness and Love, Are Sending Up Your Timber.
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. “For where your treasure is, there your heart (mind) will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)
Are you Sending Up Your Timber or Using all of your Timber for you?
Sending Up Your Timber is a term some Christians of old equated with “Doing Acts of Kindness and Giving to others in Need”, the timber is for the building of our home in heaven. The Timber that we Send Up, we can not use for self.
Our Daily Nugget
Chapter starts with “Giving to the Needy” and then goes on to talk about “Prayer”, then it talks about “Fasting”, then it talks about “Treasures in Heaven”, then it ends telling us “Do Not Worry”. Remember, the Bible is God’s Instructions on How to Become a Believer and How to Live as a Believer. Living as a Christian is not the same as Living as a Religious or Spiritual Person. Living as a Christian is based on the Bible Alone, living as a Religious or Spiritual person are based on Manmade Rules and Regulations. Christians do not love the world nor the things in it.
The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil.
The Love of Money will Prevent Us From Sending Up Our Timber.
To utilize all that God Gives us on us, turns what could have been an Eternal Blessing, into a temporary delight, at best. Jesus said to the Rich Christian, sell all you have, give it to the poor and come follow me, and you’ll have Riches in Heaven. The Rich Christian Loved the World, more than he Loved the Word.
We Each Need to Prayerfully, Examine Ourselves.
To Love the World over the Word will Prevent Us From Sending Up Our Timber. The Spirit of Selfishness will say to us; “You Need All You Have, For You”.Therefore, I Can’t Send any of My Timber, Anywhere.
I Need To Build Bigger Barns!
