What God Says about Tattoos?
The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them”: “Be Holy because I, the Lord your God, Am Holy”. (Leviticus 19:1)
Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put “Tattoo Marks” on yourselves. I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:28).
The Bible Addresses Everything.
God’s Wants His People to “Be Holy”, and not to be like The World.
Holy - Dedicated or set apart for a religious purpose, connected to God or a deity, or possessing “spiritual purity and
moral excellence”.
Our Daily Nugget
is letting us know what God says concerning Tattoos. This verse is part of the Old Testament “Holiness Code” given to ancient Israel to “Separate Them From The Surrounding and Idolatrous Worship Rituals”.
Parents “tell” their children what to do; sometimes they might explain why and sometimes they might not explain why. Children are required to obey, with or without an explanation. Parents Love their children. Parents can see danger that the children cannot see. God, our Father “Had A Reason” for telling His Children not to get tattoos, “like the world”.
We are “in the world, but not of the world”.
Parents, including God,
utilizes the Rod of Correction, to drive out the “Mischief” that is bound in the heart/mind of children. Mischief “leads” to other and greater sins. Children do not understand the danger in being “mischievous”, parents should..
Mischief - Does not mean harmless or playful teasing. It means “serious harm, injury, evil, or ruin” caused by “bad
intent”. When the biblical text uses the word, mischief, it describes “planned wickedness or sudden disaster”.
When the people of Israel disobeyed “any of the Laws God gave”, the sudden disaster often times was “death”. Jesus sacrificial death did not do away with the laws, He Fulfilled Them. That is not an authorization for us to now go do the sin.
Ask God to Bless you to Look at Tattoos the way He Does;
And Watch What Happens.
