Repent or Perish! 


The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up to me.  Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.  The Ninevites believed God.  A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.  When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne. Took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.   (Jonah 3:1,4-6)

                                             

                                               God Will Not Reject a Humbled and a Repentant Heart/Mind.


                                                                                   Our Daily Nugget

is a message to a people that were “living in the evil way”, and God sent a message to them, through Jonah, that they “Must Repent From Their Evil Ways” or that in forty days, they will be destroyed.  The people “Believed” Jonah’s Message to them and Repented.  


Jonah is speaking to us today, God’s Message to us today is that “We Must Repent or We Will Perish”.  God always sends His Word to a rebellious people, “before He destroys them”.  Nineveh was a people, very much like the United States; very wealthy, many gods, and “paid no attention to God’s Word or Way”.


                                                    Religion is not God’s Way; Christianity is God’s Way.


We are not saved from destruction just by going to Church every Sunday for an hour or two, and put a pious look on our face; that will not hide a “evil heart/mind from God”.  When God’s Word “shows us our wicked and evil ways” we have two options: we can repent and be saved from destruction or we can reject God’s Word, continue in our wicked and evil ways and receive the destruction that God has pronounced on us.


If God sent a message to you to Turn From Your Wicked and Evil Ways, would you say, Yes Lord, or would you tell the messenger, “get out of my face, I am not wicked and evil”? That you need to check yourself.  If so, that is a conceited spirit.

    

                                                                      Nineveh Repented and was Saved, 

                                                Sodom and Gomorrah Refused to Repent and was destroyed.

Come.

                                                                                  Come. The Spirit and the Bride says, “Come”. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come”!   And let the one who “Hears” Come!   Let the one who is “Thirsty” Come”; and let the one who “Wishes” take the free gift of the water or life.   (Revelation 22:17) This is a “Call” for all to “accept the gift of eternal life offered through Christ!
