Motives! - "Why" Did You Do It?

All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but “motives” are weighed by The Lord.

(Proverbs 16:2)

Motives!

“Why” Did You Do It?

Two people can do the same deed: One person’s deed is acceptable by God; the other person’s deed is not acceptable by God; “Motives” made the difference.

Motive – A “reason” for doing something.

Especially one that is hidden or not obvious.

God definitely knows why I did it.

I may or may not know why I did it.

You definitely do not know why I did it.

The Bible says that motives are formed where bone and marrow meet.  We cannot see this place in each other, only God can.  Therefore, it is wisdom to always understand that we can “see” what each other do, but we can not know why.  We just treat each other the way we would want to be treated.

Trust Everybody Until They Tell You Not To!

When they tell you not to, don’t.

Trust God to protect you from wicked and evil people!

Be wise, but Trust God to protect, He’ll do a much better job!

We should pray that we all act and react out of “sincerity” and “truth”.

We should pray that we do not act and react based on “deception” and “trickery”.

Our Daily Nugget

is letting us know that even though we feel and believe that our actions are

“good looking”,

God Will Judge Our Motives!

Did I Do It For Him or Did I Do It For Me?

God already knows.

Two Pillars Concerning Motive:

1.    Intentional Act

2.    Accidental Act

In our court system, the punishment for first degree murder and second-degree murder rests on intentional or accidental.  Intentional murder is first-degree because it was an intended act.  Accidental murder was unintentional and clemency can be considered.  The motives were different; based on the state of the mind (heart).

 “Sincerity” and “Truth”!

When sincerity and truth is in the forefront of our “Thinking Process”, our “Motives” will be honored by God; therefore, our actions and reactions to people will be “Pleasing to Him”.

Selfishness, Insincerity, Untruth, Deception and Bad Motives Dwell Together!

All of these are displeasing to God.

When God is pleased with us, good things happen to us.

When God is displeased with us, bad things happen to us.

There is a song that we sang back in the day that went something like this!

God is “so high”, we can’t go over Him,

He’s “so low” we can go under Him,

He’s “so wide” we can’t go around Him,

We’ve Got To Come In At The Door!

The Door Is Jesus!

The Bible Our "Only Instruction Manual".

Ask God To Bless Your Motives To Be Founded On

“Sincerity” and “Truth”

And Watch What Happens!
