Man in The Mirror.
Man in The Mirror.
He left the mirror and forgot what he looked like.
Do not merely “listen” to the word, and so deceive yourselves. “Do” what it says. Anyone who listen to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, “And Continue In It” - not forgetting what they have heard, But Doing It - They Will Be Blessed in what they Do.
(James 1:22-25)
Kingdom Citizens “Must” Hear and Obey the Word for the Benefit.
Our Daily Nugget
is telling us that, Listening + Doing = Salvation; Listening - Doing = A Lost Person. God’s Word is not just a good idea, it is what “we must do” and continue to do to receive the benefit from the Word. Even though there is a gallon of water next to you; if you just look at the water and never drink it, you will die of thirst.
The Doing does not save us; the Doing is the evidence of Salvation.
Imagine a society where people “forget what they look like”; imagine a life where you look at yourself in a mirror and when you leave the mirror, you forget what you look like. To say “I am Saved” and to live like “I Am Not Saved” is us “Deceiving Ourselves” that we are saved. Our Daily Nugget is telling us that if we live like this, “We Will Not Be Blessed in What We Do”.
Making a lot of money is not the Blessed in What We Do; its talking about being blessed with things like joy, contentment, harmony in your home, peace, hope, etc.; to have a lot of money and none of these things “Is Not Blessed, but Cursed”.
We determine what the Man in the Mirror do and don’t do, through
“Thinking”!
When we take our eyes, heart/mind (thinking), off the Word and put our eyes, heart/mind (thinking) on the world; we “Forget What We Look Like”. We forget what we were saying to Jesus when we said, “I Believe”.
Remember; “We are Representatives of Christ”!
Represent Well!
