Tame the Tongue, or “Pay The Price”!

When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey, “we can turn the whole animal”.  Or take ships as an example.  Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, “they are steered by a very small rudder” wherever the pilot wants it to go.  Likewise, “the tongue is a small part of the body” but it makes great boast.  Consider what a great forest is set on fire by “a small spark”.  The tongue also is a fire, “A World Of ‘Evil’ Among Parts Of The Body”.  It corrupts the whole body, “sets the course of one’s life on fire”, and “Is Itself Set On Fire By Hell”.  (James 3:3-6)

An “Untamed Tongue” is the Fruit of an “Untamed Heart/Mind”.

When discussing the tongue, 

“Remember that, The Mouth Speaks What We Have Filled Our Heart/Mind With”.

“Our Words” tells everyone what we have “Filled Our Heart/Mind With”.  We fill our heart/mind with “The Word” or with “The World”.  What the Tongue Speak is the Fruit of Our Thinking”.  What we  “watch, hear, and read” is consumed in our heart/mind and “leads” us to Think what we Think, which leads us to say and do, what we say and do.  This is another picture of the Spirit World controlling the Physical World.

Our Words, “Leads to Life or to Death”.

A man and a woman was discussing an issue and the woman said; “you don’t know my heart”; the man said, I really do know your heart.  She asked, how do you know my heart?  He told her that the Bible says, The mouth speaks what the heart/mind has been filled with.  He said to her, “you just told me what’s in your heart”.

When we fill our bodies with “junk food”, our bodies do not work right, like it should.  So it is with our heart/mind; to hear and to watch junk; fills our heart/mind with “junk like desires” and to speak “junk like words”.  Junk is very displeasing to God and leads to “more junk” and destruction.
