Desire for Pleasure.
Desire for Pleasure.
“Desire”, fights, quarrels, and “Pleasure”.
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your “desires” that battle within you? You “desire” but you do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not Ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James 4:1-3)
The “Real Reason” We do not Have what we Want. “Wrong Thinking”!
Our Daily Nugget
is explaining to us, “why” we do not have what we want and desire, even though we Obey the Command to Ask God for what we want. Let’s examine the meaning to these words used in our Daily Nugget scriptures.
Covet – To have an excessive desire for something that belongs to someone else.
Desire – A strong feeling of wanting something or wishing for something to happen. It can
be a positive or negative force and can lead to righteous actions or sinful ones.
Pleasure – Good thought or a good will. (Thinking). A gratifying emotion that can refer to
both human and divine feelings.
These words have to do with “What’s going on between our ears”, Thinking. What’s going on between our ears is due to what we have consumed in our heart/mind through our ears and our eyes. When our “desire” for “pleasure” is to “please self” and not to please God, then our desire for pleasure will lead to sin and unanswered prayers.
Is your “desire for pleasure” to Please God or to Please Self? God Knows!
Jesus declared that God “Always Hear Him When He Pray”. Jesus’ “desire for pleasure” was to “Be About His Father’s Business”; He did not covet. When our desire for pleasure is to “Please God”, then our prayers will be answered also. Remember, the Believer, the Kingdom Citizen, “Has Died To Self”. The Kingdom Citizen has “sold self”, with all self’s religions and traditions, for “Salvation”. Now The Word, the Bible, determines what we desire for pleasure; “no longer the world”.
Ask God to Bless you with the wisdom to
make your “desire for pleasure” be to Please Him, through Obedience to His Word.
